Jill King
Jill King, violist, has been a member of the Charleston Symphony Orchestra since 2004. An avid lover of chamber music, Jill has performed as a member of the Juniper Quartet and participated in numerous chamber music festivals and seminars, including the Kniesel Hall Chamber Music Festival, the Audubon Quartet Seminar, the Chamber Music Society of Charleston, the Britt Festival, and the Reston Music Festival. As a student at the Cleveland Institute of Music, she participated in the Intensive Quartet Seminar five years in a row, working with Peter Salaff and the Cavani String Quartet. During this time, Jill was fortunate to participate in numerous master classes with the Cleveland Quartet, Guaneri Quartet, the Julliard Quartet, the Orion Quartet, the Emerson Quartet, the Tokyo Quartet, to name a few. At CIM, Jill studied with Mark Jackobs and Robert Vernon and received both Bachelors and Masters degrees. She also recently became a certified Jivamukti Yoga teacher, and enjoys teaching both yoga and viola lessons to many wonderful students.
